The Unleashed Premier’s Award is offered to two separate projects that demonstrate the most likelihood of being developed further, either for commercial application or community or government use.
The Prize includes development prize of $12,500 provided by the Office of Digital Government and mentoring support provided from our Platinum award sponsors New Venture Institute, Majoran and Chiliad Consulting.
Entry in this prize category requires a commitment to deliver the Project within 12 months, including the completion of a Venture Dorm powered by Mega Accelerator Program. Each Premier Award is valued at over include is $22,000 including:

We strongly encourage hackers to draw on the IP GOD dataset on data.gov.au, and the many resources available from the major cultural hubs including Trove and Digital NZ, RecordSearch and Archives NZ.

2015 marks the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli campaign in the early period of World War 1. The conflict and the sacrifice of Australian and New Zealand soldiers are remembered every year on ANZAC Day. The National Archives of Australia, State Library of New South Wales, National and State Libraries Australasia, along with archives, libraries and memorials from across Australia and New Zealand have collaborated to release WWI data for GovHack 2015. Ever wanted to be a bounty hunter? This year you can try to get as many bounties as you like, across any major category. Each bounty has a specific challenge so when you are designing your hack, it is worth looking at what bounties and categories you want to aim for.
There will be a bounty prize from each national agency sponsor available in Australia:

The Hacker Vote
Supported by the National GovHack team, Amazon and Link Digital. Decided by the popular vote of entrants in this years competition.

All registered projects that have all parts of the competition entry finalised by 5:00pm will be automatically registered for this prize. Participants will be able to vote for almost two months after the competition.
Spirit of GovHack – Local and National
Local Prizes supported by the GovHack local teams, and the National Prize is supported by NICTA and the eGov Cluster
Each GovHack location will have a Local Spirit of GovHack prize of $500 for the team or individual that displays the greatest spirit of GovHack, aka the best “hacker” ethos. This means the team who best shared, learned and applied their skills to creatively, cleverly and collaboratively solve problems.
Each local winner will be then up for the National Spirit of GovHack Award for $2000 which will be decided upon by the National Competition judges. This is decided by the organisers of each local event and all local winners go into the national pool for the National Spirit of GovHack prize, determined by the national judges.
Team Prizes
There are also a few prizes for particular categories of participants. Teams must self-nominate in the HackerSpace which of the following categories best describes their team and declare the eligible members. Team awards can be nominated for if over 50% of your team members identify with the nominated team category. A youth is anyone 18 years or younger. To be eligible for the Best University or Best Public Servant award please add the relevant competitors *.edu.au or *.gov.au email address.
Each category has a 1st ($1000) prize and two runners up ($500).
